This summer, we're excited to offer 20 children the chance to embark on their journey as naturalists and future scientists! Kids can join us for one or two weeks of engaging projects and explorations. Our activities will cover topics like tree and rock exploration, learning about native plants, crafting, and much more!

Leading this program is Katelynn Walker, along with Claire Hamrick, Directress of the Lancaster Montessori School. Both Katelynn and Claire hold certifications in Project WET and Project WILD.

Here are the details:

  • Dates: You can sign your children up for one week or both.

  • Cost: $100 per week (with a $5 discount per child for families with two or more children), or prepay for both weeks for $175 per child.

  • Age Requirement: Children must be potty trained and aged between 3 and 7 to qualify.

  • Location: Lancaster Montessori School, 1111 W Fair Ave, Lancaster.

Once you register, we'll send you a packet with all the necessary paperwork. This will include general information and detailed instructions on arrival, departure, hydration stations, and sunscreen application and care.

For those curious about Project WET and Project WILD:

  • Project WILD is an interdisciplinary conservation and environmental program focused on wildlife. It aims to help learners of all ages develop awareness, knowledge, skills, and commitment toward informed decisions, responsible behavior, and constructive actions concerning wildlife and the environment.

  • Project WET, also known as Project Aquatic WILD, is the aquatic counterpart to Project WILD.

These programs are initiatives of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, which represents North America's state, provincial, and territorial fish and wildlife agencies. Administered through its 501(c)(3) affiliate AWARE (America’s Wildlife Association for Resource Education), the Association's mission is to support and advocate for state, provincial, and territorial responsibility for science-based fish and wildlife conservation. Their vision is sustainable fish and wildlife populations and habitats managed in trust for and supported by the public.
